Job Summary
The Film and Video Production CTE Instructor will teach high school students foundational skills in media production, including camera operation, lighting, audio, storytelling, and editing. The course will emphasize the technical, creative, and collaborative aspects of the video production process: pre-production, production, and post-production, using industry-relevant tools and workflows. Students will develop and produce original video projects while exploring pathways to further education and careers in the Arts, Media, and Entertainment sector. Part-Time Hours: 4:00-6:30 p.m. Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday
Requirements / Qualifications
Appropriate CTE or Designated Subjects teaching credential or eligibility for appropriate credential. Candidates without a credential must have 3 years’ experience within the field. CalAPS will assist individuals in obtaining the preliminary credential provided the candidate can prove applicable proof of experience. Credential cost will be reimbursed by CalAPS. Three (3) years of work experience in the technical skills, trade, or vocations to be taught are required. One (1) of the three (3) years of the required experience must be within the last five (5) years, or two (2) years within the last ten (10) years.
