Job Title: East Coast Account Executive

Reports To: Sales Director

Location: 

  • East Coast based candidate, Washington DC area preferred
  • Remote (WFH) 
  • Approximately 25% travel to include territory sales trips and light travel to outlying markets, may change based on company needs


Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000 - $78,000

Position Purpose:

The Account Executive is responsible for managing all sales activities within their designated territory, focusing on creating and maintaining strong working relationships with clients. This role is pivotal in driving revenue growth through client acquisition, relationship management, and exceptional customer service. The Account Executive works closely with the Sales Manager and Sales Support to ensure sales targets and client satisfaction goals are met.

Essential Functions:

1. Sales and Client Relationship Management:

  • Brand Ambassador:
  • Represent Calico Wallpaper with professionalism, enthusiasm, and deep product knowledge.
  • Promote and expand business within the designated territory through consistent client engagement and relationship-building.
  • Client Acquisition:
  • Identify potential clients and key decision-makers within target markets.
  • Strategically and actively seek new business opportunities through outreach, networking, and participation in industry events.
  • Develop and deliver customized product presentations to prospective clients.
  • Product Presentations:
  • Schedule and conduct presentations for new collections and existing products, showcasing product features, benefits, and applications.
  • Tailor presentations to meet specific client needs and preferences.
  • Sales Closure:
  • Follow up promptly on all client and project leads.
  • Prepare and present proposals, negotiate terms, and close sales effectively.
  • Convert quotes into orders by addressing client concerns and objections.


2. Territory and Business Management:

  • Territory Analysis:
  • Conduct regular market research to understand industry trends, competitor activity, and client needs.
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities within the territory.
  • Territory Management:
  • Manage new and existing business to achieve and exceed sales goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize territory potential.
  • Client Library Maintenance:
  • Ensure Calico’s presence in client libraries is current with all product offerings and marketing materials.
  • Sales Collateral:
  • Provide clients with necessary sales collateral, including brochures, samples, and digital resources.
  • Sample Orders:
  • Process and track sample orders efficiently, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.


3. Client Service and Support:

  • Client Service:
  • Deliver a best-in-class experience to clients through proactive communication and reliable support.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries, providing thoughtful and effective solutions.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and build long-term loyalty.
  • Communication and Reporting:
  • Attend weekly sales meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and strategies with the broader team.
  • Submit weekly call reports detailing client interactions, sales activities, and outcomes.
  • Present sales recaps and territory updates during meetings with management.


4. Event Representation and Participation:

  • Event Representation:
  • Represent Calico Wallpaper at industry trade shows, regional design events, and networking functions.
  • Prepare and support event setup, including displays, product presentations, and client engagement.
  • Generate leads and build brand awareness through professional event participation.
  • Networking:
  • Build and maintain relationships with key industry influencers, designers, architects, and other potential clients.
  • Attend industry events to expand your professional network and identify new business opportunities.


Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Sales and/or Interior Design experience (wallcovering or textile experience preferred).
  • Attitude: Upbeat, energetic, and a can-do mindset.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work from a home office and showroom; hybrid work model.
  • Team Player: Collaborative and communicative within a team environment.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze market data and identify growth opportunities.
  • Customer-Centric: Demonstrated track record of providing fast response times and exceptional client service.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office, Google Suite, Slack, and experienced with ERP/CRM systems.
  • Travel: Some travel required for regular client visits, trade shows, and company events.
  • Transportation: Reliable transportation and internet required.
