The Manufacturing GL Accountant plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, with primary responsibility for managing North American cost accounting within the manufacturing (Proprietary Products) environment. This hands-on position requires strong analytical skills, close attention to detail, and active management of inventory and cost data to drive financial transparency for the North American Proprietary Products organization.
Reporting to the North America Controller, the role partners closely with operations and other internal stakeholders to support the month-end close process, perform detailed cost and margin analysis, and deliver timely, actionable financial insights.

- Perform month‑end and year‑end close activities across multiple entities.
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger analyses.
- Manage standard costing, inventory valuation, COGS, and variance analysis.
- Maintain and improve cost‑accounting policies and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
- Oversee inventory accounting, including reconciliations, valuation, and excess/obsolete reviews.
- Implement controls and best practices to enhance inventory accuracy and reduce waste.
- Develop business performance reporting and KPI tracking across multiple business units.
- Identify opportunities to streamline cost‑accounting processes, drive ERP automation and assess opportunities to utilize AI.
- Partner with manufacturing, supply chain and procurement teams to understand cost drivers.
- Support internal and external audits with timely documentation.
- Support other ad-hoc and special projects. This may include participation in global cost accounting efforts and integration of acquired business units.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Minimum five years of progressive cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong expertise in costing, variance analysis, forecasting and inventory accounting. Hands on experience leading or participating in software implementation.
