Boiler Technician

We are seeking a skilled and driven Boiler Technician to become part of our local mill team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and possesses a strong background in heavy equipment operation.

Role Information:

• Shift Requirements: You must be available to work a rotating schedule that includes both day and night shifts.

Primary Duties:

• Manage fuel delivery to boilers by operating conveyors and front-end loaders.
• Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of the hog system.
• Perform routine water chemistry analysis, which includes documenting readings from meters, gauges, and sight glasses, as well as replacing air and water filtration components.
• Support the team by helping with necessary maintenance on valves, piping, boilers, and various gauges.
• Observe fuel quality and types, such as bark, shavings, sawdust, and chips, while providing status updates to the power plant operator to ensure optimal system performance.

Qualifications:

• Previous professional experience in the operation of heavy machinery.
• Flexibility to maintain a rotating shift schedule to help keep our boiler systems running reliably.

Physical Setting:

• Working outdoors in the yard while operating heavy machinery across different weather conditions.
• Working indoors to supervise and manage boiler system operations following the completion of your training.
