Job Description
- Research Caliber database and Complete market research.
- Work closely on sourcing and pricing negotiation of components, including but not limited to electronic components, including semiconductors, PCB assemblies, connectors, electromechanical parts, and related equipment.
- Interpret Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPB), BOMs, and OEM part lists to validate sourcing accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations such as Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
- Interpret and apply contractual flow down requirements to suppliers, ensuring all regulatory and customer-specific clauses are properly communicated and enforced
- Convert requisitions to purchase orders and place purchase orders with suppliers and principals once customer order is received.
- Develop and maintain relationships with authorized distributors and qualified independent supplier.
- Manage purchase orders, address, and resolve issues in a timely manner,
- Serve as a key interface between Engineering, Production, quality and suppliers, aligning technical requirements, resolving issues, and ensuring delivery expectations are met.
- Collaborate with Engineering to evaluate part interchangeability, substitutions, and obsolescence risks, supporting sourcing decisions.
- Support and enforce counterfeit risk mitigation strategies.
- Perform Job Costing analysis, working with Sales, Engineering, and Production to provide input and analysis
- Request vendor surveys / Complete supplier’s survey if visiting a prospective supplier.
- Research PO / inventory discrepancies and ability to reconcile them.
- Make recommendations on cost reduction and process improvement opportunities to the Vice President Operations and Quality Manager.
- Lead weekly Purchasing Status meetings.
- Work with Finance Department on ensuring credit terms are established and payments are released in accordance with contracts.
- Work with Quality Manager on ISO compliance and audits as it pertains to the Purchasing department.
- Run reports, create Excel spreadsheets, work on special projects and all other duties as assigned by VP.
- Provide feedback to Production Planning, Purchasing, Production, Receiving and other Supply Chain departments regarding availability of raw materials and supplies.
- Work to set up new suppliers.
- Oversee all Purchasing Functions within the company
- Minimum 5 years applicable work experience.
- Electronics/ Aviation/ Defense/ Manufacturing experience a plus.
- Experience in Job Costing
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of inventory control and purchasing strategies.
- Experience reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Experience dealing with suppliers and negotiations.
- Quantum experience a plus*
- Knowledge of ISO 9001.
- Experience and knowledge on purchasing hazardous materials, shelf life, and licensable material a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a professional manner

- Strong and engaging interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
