Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using advanced automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately across various vehicle systems, including electrical, mechanical, transmission, powertrain, and suspension.
- Repair and maintain vehicles by replacing worn or damaged parts, including engines, transmissions, axles, brakes, steering components, and electrical systems.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot complex electrical problems efficiently.
- Conduct vehicle suspension system repairs, wheel alignments, and steering system diagnostics to ensure proper handling and safety.
- Service diesel engines and other specialized powertrain components with precision and adherence to manufacturer specifications.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools to execute repairs effectively while maintaining safety standards.
- Communicate clearly with customers about repair needs, estimated timelines, and maintenance recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction.
Experience
- Proven dealership or service center experience as an automotive technician or mechanic is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems including electrical wiring diagrams, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), transmissions, vehicle suspension systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting complex issues across various makes and models.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret schematics and automotive wiring diagrams accurately.
- Familiarity with GM vehicles or similar brands is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Service technician experience with auto estimating software is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge complemented by proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance devices to perform repairs efficiently.
