Classroom Teachers
Each teacher, as a member of the Academy's staff, reports directly to the Head of School. The teachers' responsibilities include: promoting an atmosphere of integrity, rigorous effort, intellectual vigor, and moral values; providing daily instruction to students following the Marshall Academy curriculum documents; plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that are in line with the State of Michigan objectives/standards; helping to develop suitable teaching materials and techniques; continuing to grow professionally in scholarship and in teaching effectiveness; promoting and modeling enthusiasm for learning and respect for other people.
Contribute to the operation of the total school program through professional support of the Academy's daily routine, rules, and regulations; participate meaningfully in the Academy's program for self evaluation and procedures for teacher evaluation to continue improving as a contributing member of the Academy community.
Provide direct supervision of activities as specified by the Head of School; conceive plan, organize, rehearse, and present special student programs.
Understand and support all aspects of Marshall Academy's Handbooks and policy manuals; manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures; maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school; assist the Head of School in duties as requested.
