POSITION: Food Service Sub
REPORTS TO: Food Service Director
STARTING DATE: As soon as possible
SUMMARY: Performs a variety of tasks in the preparation and cooking of food; performs all related work as required; conforms to schedules established by the Food Service Director.

Necessary Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Pleasant, cheerful attitude toward co-workers, student and adult customers.
- Ability to maintain Health Department regulations.
- At least two years of experience as a Cook or comparable experience.
- Ability to effectively lead and coordinate the work activities of all kitchen staff in assigned location.
- Possession of the necessary physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position.
- Maintains Food Safety Manager certification
- Reads and interprets menus and recipes.
- Operates standard cooking equipment such as mixers, ranges, steamers, slicers….
- Prepares and cooks food as directed.
- Maintains equipment and facilities.
- Manages line service and a la carte items that are assigned.
- Maintains equipment and facilities.
- Familiar with and follows all District, State and Federal food service rules and regulations
- Attends training classes as scheduled.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Starting probatoinary pay is $11.00 / hour
- Training will be provided
- Employees will be enrolled in the MI schools retirement system
