BASIC FUNCTION

Assembles and joins, through welding all types of tank parts and components.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Team Supervisor

Supervises: No supervisor responsibilities

 

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Read and understand blueprints and sketches (1st Class only).
  2. Perform 100% penetration x-ray quality welds (1st Class only).
  3. Layout work required for the fabrication of tank parts and components (1st Class only).
  4. Material handling using overhead cranes, trucks, or forklift (1st or 2nd Class).
  5. Buring of parts and components (1st or 2nd Class).
  6. Fit-up and welding tasks of all tank part components (1st Class only).
  7. General Housekeeping (1st of 2nd Class).
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, Experience, and TRAINING

High School diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, licenses, registrations

Current driver’s license with clear motor vehicle record.

personal hygiene 

No beards when fit test is required.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, sketches, shipping lists, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with team supervisor and other team members.

Mathematical skills

Ability to read a tape measure. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

reasoning ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
