Special Education Teacher (LBD or MSD)

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state curriculum standards.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
• Provide individualized support to students, addressing their diverse learning needs and styles.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to enhance the educational experience and participate in professional development opportunities.
• Maintain classroom discipline and manage student behavior in accordance with school policies.
• Participate in school events and meetings as required.
• Stay informed about educational best practices and contribute to curriculum development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid Kentucky teaching certification for Learning and Behavior Disorders (LBD) or Moderate to Severe Disabilities (MSD).
• Strong knowledge of child development and effective teaching methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Proficiency in using technology for educational purposes.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Commitment to fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Must pass background checks and adhere to school district policies.
