Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistant to support classroom teachers and contribute to a positive learning environment for young children. This role involves working closely with students, assisting with daily activities, and helping foster an engaging and nurturing educational setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong understanding of early childhood development. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's educational experiences while gaining valuable classroom management skills.

Duties

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored to various age groups, including preschool, toddlers, and infants
  • Support children with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, and nap times
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
  • Provide one-on-one support for children with special needs or disabilities, ensuring their individual needs are met
  • Engage children in play-based learning activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
  • Monitor children's behavior and assist with behavior management strategies under teacher supervision
  • Support classroom management by encouraging positive interactions among students
  • Assist with classroom setup and materials preparation for daily activities and special events
  • Follow health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary

Skills

  • Experience working with children
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices
  • Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively and promote positive behavior strategies
  • Familiarity with special education needs and working with children with disabilities is a plus
  • Childcare experience including infant care, toddler care, nannying, or babysitting preferred
  • Certification or training in first aid is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff members
  • Patience, compassion, and a genuine passion for supporting children's growth and learning
