Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistant to support classroom teachers and contribute to a positive learning environment for young children. Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored to various age groups, including preschool, toddlers, and infants
- Support children with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, and nap times
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Provide one-on-one support for children with special needs or disabilities, ensuring their individual needs are met
- Engage children in play-based learning activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Monitor children's behavior and assist with behavior management strategies under teacher supervision
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive interactions among students
- Assist with classroom setup and materials preparation for daily activities and special events
- Follow health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
Skills
- Experience working with children
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively and promote positive behavior strategies
- Familiarity with special education needs and working with children with disabilities is a plus
- Childcare experience including infant care, toddler care, nannying, or babysitting preferred
- Certification or training in first aid is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff members
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine passion for supporting children's growth and learning
