Position Summary
Caldwell Co. Childcare Center is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment while supporting children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Teachers are responsible for maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere, following daily schedules, and building strong relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities, crafts, games, and lessons.
- Foster children's social, emotional, and developmental growth through positive interactions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Follow all childcare licensing regulations and center policies.
- Assist children with meals, snacks, toileting, diapering, and handwashing as needed.
- Accurately document meals, diapering/toileting, naps, activities, and incidents using the Brightwheel app.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents regarding their child's daily activities and progress.
- Work cooperatively with other teachers and staff members.
- Maintain classroom supplies and report needed items to management.
- Participate in staff meetings and required trainings.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow all health and safety procedures.
- Encourage positive behavior while using appropriate classroom management techniques.
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Pass a state and federal background check.
- Provide documentation of a negative TB Skin Test.
- Be reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Be physically able to lift up to 40 pounds, bend, kneel, and actively engage with children throughout the day.
- Have a genuine passion for working with young children.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a licensed childcare center or preschool (preferred but not required).
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of child development and early childhood education is a plus.
