Small Business Banker II
Overview
The Small Business Banker II will be responsible for developing, managing, and growing small business banking relationships within an assigned market. This individual will partner closely with branch teams, Credit, Treasury Management, Merchant Services, Trust, and other internal partners to support clients with lending, deposit, treasury, and related financial solutions.
This role is focused on building new relationships, deepening existing client relationships, supporting credit needs, and driving portfolio growth. The ideal candidate will bring strong business banking experience, credit knowledge, and the ability to actively prospect and build relationships within the local market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and expand small business banking relationships within the assigned market
- Manage a portfolio of business clients, generally with revenues under $10 million
- Identify new business opportunities through prospecting, referrals, and branch partnerships
- Partner with Credit, Treasury Management, Merchant Services, Trust, and branch teams to support client needs
- Promote business banking solutions, including lending, deposits, treasury, merchant services, and noncredit products
- Interview applicants, assess financial needs, and prepare loan applications for Credit review
- Analyze financial statements and credit materials to evaluate risk
- Present loan recommendations to Credit and internal leadership as needed
- Monitor existing loans, renewals, annual reviews, risk ratings, and credit file documentation
- Ensure compliance with loan terms, internal policies, and regulatory requirements
- Stay active in the local community and support assigned growth goals
Required Experience
- 5 years of business banking, small business banking, commercial banking, or branch management experience with a strong business focus
- Experience developing and managing small business client relationships
- Strong understanding of business lending, credit analysis, loan documentation, and financial statement review
- Ability to assess credit risk and partner effectively with Credit and internal stakeholders
- Proven ability to prospect, build relationships, and grow a portfolio
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across client service, sales, credit, and portfolio management
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance expectations within a banking environment
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field
- Experience with SBA lending, including SBA Express, SBA 7(a), and SBA 504 products
- Knowledge of cash management, treasury management, merchant services, and other noncredit banking products
- Experience supporting businesses with annual revenues under $10 million
- Existing market knowledge or community involvement within the assigned territory
Location
This role will support one or more Pennsylvania markets, including Williamsport, Luzerne County, Hazleton, Wilkes-Barre, Scranton / Lackawanna County, and Pittston
Salary : $90,000 - $115,000
