Project Manager - E-Commerce
eCommerce Planning & Delivery Operations
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid/Onsite Preferred)
Our client is seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Manager to support large-scale eCommerce delivery and catering operations initiatives across major U.S. metro markets.
This role will partner closely with eCommerce Planning & Execution leadership to help scale and optimize fulfillment and delivery coverage strategies across some of our clients largest regions, including Boston, Los Angeles, and other key metropolitan areas. The Project Manager will serve as a central point of coordination across cross-functional teams, helping manage operational readiness, fulfillment expansion efforts, stakeholder communication, and execution planning.
The ideal candidate thrives in highly complex environments, can independently drive initiatives forward with minimal oversight, and has a strong ability to anticipate operational risks and dependencies before they arise.
This is a high-visibility role supporting initiatives that directly impact customer delivery experiences, operational scalability, and enterprise eCommerce growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate complex cross-functional initiatives supporting eCommerce delivery, catering, and fulfillment operations
- Partner with Planning & Execution leadership to support rollout strategies across multiple major metro markets
- Help optimize delivery network coverage and balance order volume across fulfillment-capable stores
- Coordinate initiatives to enable fulfillment capabilities at additional store locations
- Manage operational planning related to:
- Store congestion mitigation
- Labor and staffing readiness
- Delivery capacity planning
- Zip code and delivery coverage configuration updates
- Operational systems alignment
- Build and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, dependencies, risk assessments, and stakeholder communications
- Serve as the primary point of coordination across multiple teams, programs, and executive stakeholders
- Proactively identify risks, roadblocks, and competing priorities while developing mitigation strategies
- Ensure alignment between interconnected programs with varying timelines and objectives
- Facilitate regular project status reporting, action item tracking, and executive-ready communications
- Support phased implementation planning and operational readiness for key rollout milestones:
- Document learnings, retrospective insights, and operational recommendations throughout the lifecycle of the engagement
- Drive continuous improvement across project management tools, communication workflows, and operational processes
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of project management experience leading high-complexity, cross-functional initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing stakeholders and overlapping program priorities
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to work independently and operate with a high degree of ownership and self-sufficiency
- Proven experience proactively identifying risks and anticipating operational challenges
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level communication
- Experience building and maintaining project documentation, status reporting, and action tracking
- Strong proficiency with:
- Excel
- Smartsheet
- Quip
- OneDrive collaboration tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Retail industry experience
- Experience supporting eCommerce, last-mile delivery, logistics, or fulfillment operations
- Experience working in fast-paced operational or enterprise rollout environments
