GENERAL SUMMARY
Calculated Hire is looking for a custodial staff member to support our client in Albuquerque. This individual would help maintain a clean and safe environment and ensuring the well-being of visitors. The role primarily involves performing routine custodial tasks to uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards within the designated area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, office suites, common spaces, lunch, and break areas;
- Empty all trash and recycling containers; wash window sills, walls, doors, and furniture; clean whiteboards and trays; vacuum, sweep, and mop all hallways, walkways, and stairways.
- Perform maintenance duties including stripping, waxing, sealing, and buffing floors; spot clean and shampoo carpets.
- Respond to requests for special moving, clean-up, or set-up tasks as assigned by Lead Custodian or M&O Supervisor.
- Respond to emergency spill clean-up requests.
- Report repairs to Lead Custodian or M&O Supervisor.
- Perform other related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
- Employees are required to comply with safety regulations, procedures, protocols, OSHA standards, and wear personal protective gear if required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of various cleaning methods, equipment, and chemicals used for different surfaces and materials.
- Understanding of safety protocols and procedures when handling cleaning chemicals, operating machinery, and performing tasks to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Awareness of health and sanitation standards set by regulatory agencies, such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and local health departments.
- Understanding of environmentally friendly cleaning practices and disposal methods for hazardous materials.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management to keep track of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Ability to notice and address small details to ensure thorough cleaning and maintenance of facilities.
- Skill in efficiently managing time and prioritizing tasks to complete cleaning duties within specified timeframes.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and operating cleaning equipment.
- Effective communication skills to interact with supervisors, coworkers, and sometimes clients or building occupants.
- Capacity to identify cleaning challenges and develop effective solutions to address them.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other custodial staff or team members to achieve common goals.
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities, schedules, and environments.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and pressure washers with precision.
- Ability to interact courteously with building occupants and respond to their requests or concerns professionally.
- Sensitivity to cultural differences and diverse backgrounds, especially in environments with diverse populations.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and find solutions to various cleaning challenges effectively.
