Calculated Hire is Supporting the search of one of our Clients for a detail-oriented and knowledgeable ADA Compliance Coordinator to lead efforts focused on reviewing existing documents, reports, presentations, and related materials, as well as providing remediation support, to ensure that the division is fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508, WCAG).
This role focuses on identifying and removing accessibility barriers within training programs, working collaboratively CEDEP programs, learning and development teams, and technology/software vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess Content: Evaluate existing materials (e.g., documents, presentations,
scientific reports, videos, and data dashboards) for ADA compliance and
recommend necessary improvements.
- Consult on New Trainings: Partner with CEDEP programs during development
to ensure all new training content is accessible from the start.
- Standards Implementation: Ensure adherence to ADA, Section 508, and WCAG 2.1
AA (or latest) accessibility standards across all training delivery methods.
- Training & Guidance: Provide guidance and training to staff and content creators on
how to produce accessible training content (e.g., captioning, alt text, document
formatting, color contrast).
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear documentation of compliance reviews,
actions taken, and ongoing monitoring processes.
- Stay Informed: Keep current with updates in accessibility laws, guidelines, and best
practices as they relate to digital and in-person training.Required Qualifications
Experence Requirements:
- Previous experience in accessibility compliance or ADA coordination, preferably
with a focus on document remediation and established best practices.
- Solid understanding of ADA, Section 508, WCAG 2.1 (or higher) guidelines.
- Experience reviewing and remediating digital content for accessibility (e.g., PDFs,
PowerPoints, videos).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with departmental ADA Coordinators and cross-
functional teams to ensure consistency, alignment, and adherence to accessibility
standards across programs.
- Familiarity with accessibility tools and technologies (e.g., screen readers,
captioning software, accessibility checkers).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across
departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Accessibility certification (e.g., CPACC, WAS, or other IAAP credentials).
- Familiarity with accessible design tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Pro,
Commonlook, Microsoft Accessibility Checker).
Salary : $45 - $50
