Summary
This is the first of three levels in the Inspection – Code Enforcement Series.
Highly responsible professional work in administering the Calcasieu Parish Code of Ordinances falling within the operations of the Division of Planning and Development.

This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensing Requirements
Valid Driver's License as per State law or requirement.

An employee in this position will be supplied with a uniform, provided by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury. The employee is responsible for abiding by the Police Jury's Uniform Agreement.

- Responsible for the enforcement of various ordinances and planning programs assigned under the Division of Planning and Development.
- Interpret maps and legal descriptions.
- Perform field inspections to determine code compliance.
- Handle calls and complaints regarding violations and inspections.
- Research records within the Tax Assessors and Clerk of Court's offices.
- Administer Parish programs through community education and awareness, as well as enforcement of appropriate program-related ordinances.
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and/or yearly reports and maintain reasonable files.
- Perform related work as assigned or required.
