Pay: $25.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Saturday, 10 hours/day (60 hrs/week)
Per Diem: $75.00/day for candidates residing 65 miles from the job site
Calcasieu Mechanical Contractors is hiring Fire Watch and Helper personnel to support welding operations at the Procter & Gamble facility in Pineville, LA. Great entry-level opportunity — immediate openings, start as early as April 6, 2026.
Qualifications:
- Prior fire watch or industrial helper experience preferred but not required
- Basic understanding of fire safety procedures and hot work permits
- Ability to remain alert and attentive during extended watch periods
- Must pass site-specific orientation and safety requirements
- Comfortable working in industrial plant environments (elevated areas, outdoors)
- Must be clean-shaven per site safety policy
- Reliable transportation to the job site
Responsibilities:
- Maintain continuous fire watch during and after hot work operations (welding, cutting, grinding)
- Monitor work area for fire hazards and ensure extinguishing equipment is accessible
- Assist welders with material handling, tool staging, and work area prep
- Communicate hazards or unsafe conditions immediately to supervisors
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
PPE: Hard hat, safety glasses, and high-visibility vest provided by CMC. Employee must supply hard-toe boots.
Site Orientation: Mondays & Wednesdays at 7:00 AM — report to Gate 7
