The City of Blair, Nebraska is seeking a collaborative, forward-thinking leader to serve as its next City Administrator. Blair is experiencing a period of meaningful growth and investment. The community offers strong municipal services, a growing Class B school district, more than 150 acres of parks and trails, its own police department, a dedicated volunteer fire department, a public library and technology center, a community pool, the Blair Executive Airport, and City-owned water and wastewater treatment facilities.

About The Position

The City Administrator reports directly to the Mayor and works closely with the City Council to provide leadership, direction, and oversight for the daily operations and long-term success of the City. The ideal candidate will be an experienced municipal leader who can balance strategic planning, financial management, infrastructure priorities, economic development, and community engagement.

The City of Blair employs over 80 full-time employees and close to 130 total employees depending on the season (Parks, Pool, Library, etc.). The City of Blair has an annual budget of over $101.7 million, that continues to grow each year. This is an exceptional opportunity for a municipal leader who enjoys balancing strategic vision with community engagement.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field required; Master's degree preferred.

Five (5) years of executive municipal leadership experience.

Five (5) years of budgeting, economic development, utilities, labor relations, capital projects, and community engagement experience.

Must reside within 30 miles of Blair City Hall.

Equivalent education and experience considered.

ICMA or ASPA membership preferred.
