Cahill Contractors is seeking an energetic and highly motivated marketing professional to join our evolving Business Development and Marketing team. The Marketing Director manages a team of three marketing professionals and will work closely with our Business Development and technical teams.

Responsibilities Include

Strategic Marketing & Brand Leadership

  • Develop and execute a unified marketing strategy in alignment with Cahill’s strategic goals
  • Assist with positioning Cahill in emerging markets (healthcare, community college, higher education, K-12 public and private education)
  • Work with company leadership to identify opportunities to demonstrate thought leadership (speaking engagements, conference panels, industry publications)
  • Ensure consistency of brand representation across all channels, client touchpoints, and throughout the company
  • Oversee the firm’s digital presence across websites, social media, and SharePoint (intranet)

Pursuit of New Business

  • Lead preparation and submission of Proposal, Qualification, and Prequalification packages
  • Manage pre-qualification process across public agencies (e.g., K-12 and higher education districts)
  • Collaborate with company leadership and technical staff to develop compelling, client-focused proposals
  • Maintain and update proposal content libraries, resumes, project sheets, and boilerplate materials
  • Develop appropriate usage of technology and AI to enhance proposal development
  • Coach teams to deliver impactful presentations, and assist in creating presentation materials

Business Development

  • Support the Business Development Executive and company executives in tracking opportunities and building client relationships
  • Research opportunities, develop strategies, and work with company leadership to increase market diversification and secure new clients
  • Manage Treblehook CRM system to support pipeline visibility

Communications & Public Relations

  • Develop marketing collateral for digital and print (internal and external)
  • Manage industry survey participation and award submission activities
  • Attend and/or coordinate exhibitor booths at local key conferences (2-3 per year)
  • Oversee project photography schedule and production

Client Experience

  • Work with the Executive Team to capture client feedback throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop improvement strategies and programs based on client feedback

Management

  • Manage and mentor the marketing team, including proposal managers and a marketing assistant
  • Track marketing key performance indicator metrics
  • Develop and manage annual marketing budget

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • 8 years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 4 years in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction (A/E/C) industry
  • Proven track record of leading successful pursuits in a proposal-based marketing function; experience with public K-12 and higher education proposals preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proven track record of managing direct reports
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of teams and individuals
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Familiarity with CRM systems
  • Knowledge of CMS Web/Intranet platforms (WordPress, Joomla, SharePoint) preferred

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements described herein are representative of those that must be met by the employee, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in an office or hybrid setting. The employee is required to work in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws. This position will be regularly required to:

  • Repetitively use hand motions for keyboard use and physical use of vision to read computer monitors and paper documents.
  • Regularly use hands to operate standard office equipment (personal computer, phone, printer, etc.)
  • See with close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and have the ability to adjust focus.
  • Sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time working on a computer.
  • Talk and hear at normal levels. The noise level in the office work environment is usually low to moderate.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.

  • Employment – This is a full-time position located in downtown San Francisco. This role is hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days in the office. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer an annual discretionary performance-based bonus.

The base annual salary for this exempt role is targeted between $150,000-$200,000.
