Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide attentive service to ensure a positive dining experience
- Prepare food items according to established recipes and safety standards, including handling ingredients with care and precision
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems for accurate order processing and cash handling
- Upsell menu items to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining excellent customer service
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, cleaning workstations, and adhering to food safety protocols
- Assist with food prep tasks like chopping, assembling, and portioning ingredients efficiently in a quick service or fast food restaurant setting
- Manage cash register transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations for change and totals
- Support kitchen operations by stocking supplies, organizing storage areas, and ensuring proper food handling practices are followed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth restaurant flow during busy hours and promote a positive work environment
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or the food industry is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is most important
- Familiarity with POS systems such as is a plus
- Basic math skills for cash handling, sales calculations, and retail math are essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures is highly valued
- Prior experience with cashiering, serving, bussing tables, or kitchen support roles will help you succeed in this position
- Culinary experience or restaurant experience can provide a strong foundation for excelling in this role
