Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Attendance Operations
- Data Maintenance: Manage daily student attendance records using the Student Information System (e.g., Infinite Campus), ensuring accurate tracking of excused/unexcused absences, tardies, and early dismissals.
- Verification: Review and process parent notes, emails, and voicemail messages regarding student absences; cross-reference and update records accordingly.
- Daily Reconciliation: Identify missing attendance data from teachers and proactively follow up to ensure compliance with district and state deadlines.
- Family Outreach: Initiate daily automated or manual communications to parents of students marked absent without notification.
- Reporting: Generate daily, weekly, and monthly attendance reports for administrators; flag students reaching truancy thresholds.
- Support: Schedule and coordinate weekly multi-disciplinary attendance meetings with school administrators, parents, and visiting teachers (social workers) to address extreme truancy and chronic absenteeism.
- Visitor Management: Greet all visitors warmly, verify identification, and manage the visitor check-in system to ensure school security protocols are strictly followed.
- Student Support: Manage the steady flow of middle school students visiting the main office for tardy slips, early check-outs, or general questions.
- Customer Service: Answer the main office multi-line phone system, route calls appropriately, provide general school information, and take detailed messages.
- Logistics & Mail: Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and deliveries to staff mailboxes.
- Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality regarding student records, family situations, and office interactions in compliance with FERPA regulations.
- Emergency Response: Assist administrative teams during safety drills or actual emergencies by accounting for attendance records and managing front-gate access.
- General Tasks: Provide clerical backup to the Financial and Registration Secretaries during peak periods (e.g., registration weeks).
REQUIREMENTS: To qualify for the permit, you must meet one of the following:
Option 1
- Hold a high school diploma or recognized equivalent AND
- Meet testing requirements by either:
- Earning a qualifying score of 459 on the ParaPro Assessment (1755) (available through August 31, 2026), or
- Achieving scores of 332 on ParaPathways: Reading and Writing (5758) and 334 on ParaPathways: Mathematics (5759)
- Hold an associate degree or have completed a minimum of 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited institution, with a grade of "C" or better in each course
Option 3 (Service Paraprofessional)
- Hold a high school diploma or recognized equivalent
