Job Overview
We are seeking a professional, clinical, and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for our outpatient cardiology practice. This part-time role focuses exclusively on direct patient care within the Nuclear Stress Lab. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the ideal candidate brings strong cardiac skills, such as IV insertion and rhythm monitoring, to ensure patient safety and high-quality diagnostic testing during stress procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepares, monitors, and continuously assesses patients undergoing nuclear stress testing.
- Administers medications, treatments, and pharmacological stress agents safely under provider direction.
- Explains diagnostic procedures, pre/post-test requirements, and safety instructions to patients and families.
- Observes and interprets real-time cardiac rhythm data and monitors vital signs during procedures.
- Recognizes and immediately responds to any changes in patient status or critical cardiac symptoms.
- Maintains accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health records (EHR) for all lab procedures.
- Follows all specialized lab safety guidelines, including radiation safety and infection control protocols.
- Helps monitor lab equipment function and coordinates the ordering of clinical nursing supplies.
- Active state RN license and current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- Strong skills in peripheral IV insertion and cardiac rhythm interpretation are highly preferred.
- Operates comfortably in a physical environment requiring direct patient contact, equipment interaction, extended periods of standing, and the ability to lift supplies up to 30 pounds.
- Actively participates in maintaining laboratory accreditation protocols and assists as needed during official accreditation reviews and inspections.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
