Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities: We are seeking a highly efficient, clinical, and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our outpatient cardiology practice. This role balances direct patient care within the Nuclear Stress Lab with vital clinical and administrative workflows across the broader cardiology office.

Operating in a fast-paced environment, this position requires direct patient contact, equipment interaction, and extended periods of standing. The ideal candidate blends sharp clinical skills (IV insertion, ECG monitoring) with strong administrative discipline to manage patient documentation, referrals, and clinic workflows.

  • Highly efficient, clinical, and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for an outpatient cardiology practice, balancing direct patient care in the Nuclear Stress Lab with vital clinical and administrative workflows across the broader office.
  • Operates in a fast-paced environment requiring direct patient contact, equipment interaction, the ability to stand for extended periods, and the capacity to safely lift supplies and equipment up to 30 pounds.
  • Prepares, observes, and continuously assesses patients for clinic visits and nuclear stress testing; assists with diagnostic tests and interprets results, monitors and reports real-time changes in status, and monitors vitals during procedures.
  • Prepares patients and assists with patient examinations and therapies, including the comprehensive execution and implementation of nursing care plans under provider direction.
  • Safely administers treatments and medications in strict compliance with healthcare regulations, following established medication administration and storage procedures.
  • Guides and advises patients and families on health maintenance, preventative medicine, pre/post-test requirements, and home care needs while providing necessary educational, emotional, and psychological support.
  • Organizes and manages daily clinic workflows, providing direction and oversight to Medical Assistants.
  • Maintains complete, accurate, and logical EHR documentation, ensuring absolute clarity and precision in patient charts for diagnosis, treatment, and billing (note: this role does not involve medical coding).
  • Processes incoming/outgoing referrals, compiles comprehensive patient documentation packets, and manages paperwork and administrative tasks to ensure seamless transitions for clinic visits, stress lab testing, and other office procedures.
  • Participates and actively works with compliance officers and regulatory bodies to maintain clinic certifications, adhere to healthcare standards, and strictly follow sterilization, radiation safety, and infection-control protocols.
  • Monitors and coordinates the maintenance of equipment operations, equipment inventory, and regularly checks and replenishes nursing and clinic supplies.
  • Active, unrestricted state LPN license and current BLS certification required; peripheral IV insertion proficiency is highly preferred.
  • Proficient keyboarding skills, ability to quickly master specialized technical software, and high analytical skills to read and record medical records logically.
  • Strong organizational skills to set up systems of organization for patient files, the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities in a work day, and professional verbal/written communication with excellent phone etiquette.
  • Self-motivated, driven, and highly disciplined to keep up with changes in healthcare, new policies, and shifting office priorities.
