Position Description
The Respiratory Therapy Director will perform respiratory therapy duties and supervise day-to-day clinical activities of the respiratory department in accordance with current facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines & regulations. Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs all duties of a Respiratory Therapist for the facility and ensures quality respiratory services provided are in accordance with physician orders & facility policies.
- Ensure proper management of all therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
- Conduct interviewing/hiring/counseling/evaluation process for respiratory staff.
- Assist as needed with the department work schedule/on-call schedule.
- Ensure administrative duties such as auditing charts, care plans, MatrixCare data entry, completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., are completed in a timely & thorough manner.
- Graduate of a CoArc approved school of respiratory therapy, with a minimum A.S. in respiratory care.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner license required, with a minimum CRT, RRT licensure/certification preferred.
- Must have 1-year supervisory experience with minimum 5 years clinical experience.
- Working knowledge of respiratory equipment needed to operate, maintain & conduct routine troubleshooting on various types of equipment with emphasis on mechanical ventilators, tracheostomy care & various O2 delivery devices.
