CNC Equipment Reliability Lead

Location: Shelby Township, Michigan

Engagement: 90-day potential Contract-to-Hire

Schedule: Day Shift

Compensation: Pay up to $33.00 (potentially higher for the ideal candidate)

The lights flip on, spindles warm, and you take a quick sweep of the floor—listening for the subtle sounds that tell you which CNC machines need attention first. You verify that preventive maintenance is on track, confirm critical spares are stocked, and collaborate with setup personnel before the first parts of the day roll off the line. When a lathe throws a software alarm or a hydraulic broach loses pressure, you dive in—mechanical tools in one hand, diagnostic software in the other—to get production humming again.

• End-to-end preventive maintenance to keep CNC machines operating efficiently and accurately
• Hands-on troubleshooting and repair across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and software domains
• Partnership with operators and CNC setup personnel to quickly identify issues and minimize downtime
• Recordkeeping for maintenance schedules, repairs performed, and parts consumed
• Ordering and stocking of machine parts to reduce lead times and unplanned stoppages
• Care and upkeep of shop support equipment, including forklifts and an overhead crane
• Full adherence to safety procedures and protocols, including LOTO

• Associate degree or technical certification in mechanical or electrical engineering (or related field)
• Proven maintenance and repair experience with CNC lathes, mills, grinders, hydraulic broaches, and saws
• Familiarity with CNC controls such as Fanuc and Siemens
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Sharp problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and clear communication
• Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols
• Experience maintaining overhead cranes, forklifts, and other shop equipment is highly preferred

You’ll be a hands-on leader for machine reliability, working closely with operations and setup teams to keep throughput high and costs down.
