Product Validation Test Technician

Location: Rochester Hills, Michigan

Contract: Through December 2026, with potential renewal thereafter

Compensation: Up to $35.00 per hour (based on proven work history)

You arrive, review the day’s test objectives, and translate requirements into actionable test setups. You select and calibrate the right instruments, assemble components for evaluation, and prepare the lab environment for safe, consistent execution. Once the rigs and software are ready, you run performance, environmental, and operational tests to verify capability, reliability, and conformance to specification.

As results come in, you log data meticulously, analyze what you see, and clearly communicate findings to the team. If something doesn’t look right, you retest to confirm. You’ll disassemble components post-test, maintain databases by entering and backing up data, and keep equipment in peak form by following procedures, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating repairs when needed. Throughout it all, you uphold lab safety rules and actively look for better ways to test, document, and improve—contributing to engineering and organizational success. And, as with any lab, you take on related duties as assigned.

• Second and Third Shift positions available
• 10-hour shifts (Wednesday–Sunday or Sunday–Wednesday)
• Must be flexible to work any shift
• Training: Approximately 8 weeks on First Shift is required

• Conduct and document tests on products, components, and work-in-progress
• Verify systems under development for proper function and conformance to specifications
• Analyze and communicate test results; perform retests when appropriate
• Install, maintain, and operate testing software and equipment
• Help define test criteria, methods, conditions, and standards
• Select and ensure accurate calibration of equipment for each test
• Assemble/disassemble components pre- and post-test
• Complete test logs and maintain a test information database (including data backups)
• Maintain a safe test environment in compliance with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Keep equipment running via procedures, troubleshooting, supply management, preventive maintenance, and repair coordination
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and adapt to change

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Background in mechanical testing and/or experience as an Auto Technician
• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree preferred
