Successful candidates will learn the set-up and operation of various manual and CNC machine tools. Our 4 year indentured apprenticeship program is coordinated through the State of California Division of Apprenticeship Standards.
Candidates must be motivated to learn, have mechanical ability and 1-2 years of training and/or experience in machining techniques. Should have basic knowledge of mill, lathe and surface grinding operations, shop math, print reading, inspection techniques and use of machinist hand tools and measuring equipment. This basic training can be obtained through certain community colleges, as well as sponsored training programs.
