The Farmland Assessment Analyst at Cache County Corp., is an entry-level Appraiser/Analyst role supporting fair, consistent Property Tax outcomes for Agriculture and Farm parcels. Working onsite in Logan, UT, you'll apply the Farmland Assessment Act (FAA) and State Tax Commission standards to classify Farmland and document well-supported appraisal decisions. Key responsibilities:
- Manage greenbelt applications and determine eligibility for agricultural use
- Classify land per State Tax Commission guidelines (Irrigated I–IV, Dryland, Graze I–IV) using soil type, topography, and water availability
- Apply agricultural production metrics, including evaluating crop yields and calculating Animal Unit Months (AUMs)
- Review and audit agricultural financial records (e.g., sales receipts) to confirm a reasonable expectation of profit
- Read and interpret legal Property descriptions, plat maps, and deeds
- Perform accurate Tax calculations, including complex rollback taxes up to five years
- Conduct audits and physical site inspections in varied weather and uneven terrain
