Are you a talented Civil Engineer looking for a rewarding opportunity? Cache County's Engineering Division is looking for a Civil Engineer II to join our team! In this role, you'll get to use your professional and technical skills on a variety of exciting projects. You'll be involved in the design, development, planning, maintenance, and construction of important County infrastructure, as well as reviewing new developments.
This position offers a starting wage of $32.86 an hour, plus fantastic benefits that kick in on your very first day! We offer medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, along with retirement contributions, bereavement leave, and 14 paid holidays. As a full-time employee, you'll also enjoy 18 days of personal leave in your first year.
What You'll Be Doing:
As a Civil Engineer II, you'll play a key role in several areas:
- Development Review: You'll help review development proposals to ensure they meet our standards.
- Project Oversight: You'll be involved in overseeing contracts and construction projects from start to finish.
- Construction Review: You'll conduct field assessments and reviews for our construction crews, making sure everything is built to spec. This includes reviewing construction documents like design drawings and specifications for subdivisions, roads, and other infrastructure projects.
- Right-of-Way Management: You'll manage County rights-of-way, which includes reviewing permits, enforcing violations, and coordinating land acquisition for County construction projects.
- Public Interaction: You'll also be engaging with the public, handling inquiries through phone calls, in-person discussions, written correspondence, and at the front counter.

What You'll Need:
To be a great fit for this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field.
- At least two (2) years of civil engineering experience.
- A Fundamentals of Engineering Certificate.
