What are the responsibilities and job description for the Claims Advocate position at CAC Group?
Job Summary: Our Legal & Claims Practice Group (“LCP”) is comprised of widely respected industry experts who work in tandem with CAC’s brokers to provide holistic insurance and claims servicing for clients. As a Claims Advocate, you will be responsible for handling a wide range of tasks in a professional, well organized, and flexible manner. You will be expected to handle various aspects of claims management for clients of CAC’s Financial Lines Practice Group (“FLP”) including but not limited to the following duties set for below.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Directly handle claims from inception to resolution within the following lines of coverage: public and private Directors and Officers Liability, Errors and Omissions, Employment Practices Liability, Cyber and Technology Errors and Omissions, Fiduciary Liability, Crime, and Kidnap and Ransom.
- Provide coverage and wording advice to clients and brokers as appropriate.
- Timely and accurately report new claims and circumstances while proactively identifying potential coverage issues that may impact resolution.
- Obtain insurer consent for counsel retention and settlements.
- Conduct analysis of coverage letters from insurers.
- Facilitate the distribution of insurer coverage position(s) and status update(s) to insurers.
- Schedule and moderate client meetings and conference calls with insurers.
- Maintain invoice trackers and reconcile invoices against client policy retention.
- Facilitate insurer reimbursement payments to clients.
- Maintain up-to-date electronic claim files in the LCP shared drive.
- Review loss runs and obtain status updates on all matters to ensure the timely and accurate file maintenance.
- Escalate claim and coverage issues on a timely basis to CAC leadership.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and insurer claim representatives.
- Other duties are assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree required (paralegal certification is beneficial).
- 7-10 years relevant work experience required.
- Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills.

- Ability to engage with and present confidently to clients and prospects, as well as internally.
- Ability to identify client needs and provide solutions to address those needs.
- Ability to set realistic client expectations and deliver in a time-sensitive environment.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
