Job Ad: 1099 Drop Bury Technicians (Coax & Fiber Drops)

Position: Independent Contractor (1099) - Drop Bury Technician (Spectrum Charter)

Compensation: Competitive piece-rate pay, based on completed drops

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking skilled and motivated Drop Bury Technicians to join our team as 1099 independent contractors. You will be responsible for installing and burying coaxial and fiber optic cables for residential and commercial telecommunications projects. If you have experience in telecom fieldwork, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

• Perform underground coax and fiber drop installations, including trenching and burying cables.
• Ensure proper cable placement, splicing, and termination per industry standards.
• Conduct site assessments to determine the best burial routes and methods.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and equipment (e.g., trenchers, boring machines) safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, including measurements and project details.
• Adhere to safety protocols and local regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service during on-site work, ensuring minimal disruption.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Drop Bury Technician or similar role in telecommunications.
• Familiarity with coax and fiber optic cable installation and burial techniques.
• Own tools and equipment (e.g., shovels, picks, drills, locators, etc.).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Must pass a background check and provide proof of insurance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with directional boring or trenching equipment. ((May or may not need machine))
• Knowledge of telecom industry standards (e.g., NEC, OSHA).
• Certifications in fiber optic or coax installation (e.g., FOA, SCTE). NOT TO 100% requireed
