Job Overview:
We are hiring experienced Fiber Optic/ Cable Technicians in Hammond, LA
The role involves fiber installation and splicing, and may include some coaxial work.
This position is ideal for techs who are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Requirements:
- Proven Fiber Optic/ Cable experience (e.g., splicing, installation, troubleshooting)
- Willingness to perform both fiber and coax work, as needed
- Must pass a field test with another tech prior to onboarding
- Must own:
- Work vehicle (van, SUV, or truck – white color not required in this market)
- 28 ft. fiberglass ladder & 6 ft. step ladder
- Full tool set for fiber work (splicing tools, OTDR, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work outdoors and in various environments (attics, rooftops, etc.)
Other Information:
- 1099 contract role
- Paid per job (piece-rate basis)
- Ongoing work available based on performance and availability
