Company Description
Nehemiah Holdings, DBA Cable Quest and Apogee Controls, is seeking a highly skilled Product Development & Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This is a full-time, in‑person position based primarily at our Fort Smith, AR facility.
Scope
The Product Development & Manufacturing Engineer creates detailed production instructions, supports new product quoting, and leads customer design and prototyping projects. The role improves manufacturing processes, optimizes operator workflows and facility layouts, builds testing capabilities, and maintains equipment reliability. It also provides daily technical support to production and contributes to automation initiatives using coding and AI tools.

- Ability to master product and manufacturing disciplines across three different customer segments (custom cable, OEM, and datacenter power distribution)
Preferred Background
- B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related engineering discipline
- 2 - 7 years of work experience in engineering or manufacturing of OEM, technology, or industrial equipment industries
- Experience leading (or participating in) multi-person team projects, including managing stakeholders, and accomplishing tasks within planned deadline
- Interest in working with AI
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Own work order delivery to production by creating detailed operator work instruction in CAD and Visual.
- Support Cable Quest drawing conversion project to convert historical customer drawings to a manufacturing standard.
- Collaborate with Sales Engineering to facilitate optimal new product quoting.
- Design operator workflows optimizing for quality and efficiency, including regular facility layout reconfigurations.
- Lead specific customer design and prototyping projects of various levels of complexity.
- Identify and implement operational manufacturing process improvement opportunities.
- Build testing capabilities and capacity for new customer parts.
- Lead proactive equipment maintenance schedules.
- Support ongoing production by answering operator questions.
- Support automation of engineering and production tasks with AI and other technologies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to work in a sedentary environment and stand, sit, and/or walk for up to 8 hours.
- Able to see small details on a computer screen or paper documents.
- Able to type, use a mouse and manipulate other office equipment with precision.
- Able to coordinate hand and eye movements while typing or performing other tasks.
- Able to wear all Personal Protection Equipment such as safety goggles and closed-toed shoes when required.
