Cabell Huntington Hospital seeks a full-time Medical Assistant to work in the Marshall Health/CHH Healthy Aging clinic located in Barboursville, WV.
The Medical Assistant position will maintain a high quality of effectiveness and will provide assistance as necessary to co-workers and patients through an office oriented environment Candidates should anticipate a high volume of in-person and telephone interaction with patients, employees and co-workers. As such a pleasant personality is essential for this position.
Applicants will be expected to maintain a professional demeanor and positively represent the Hospital at all times.
To be considered, candidates must have their Medical Assistant certification.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the physician.
- Answering phones & Making appointments
- Greeting & interacting with patients & customers
- Initial patient screenings
- Pulling and filing patient charts
- Taking blood pressure & medical histories
- Assisting doctors
- Calling or faxing prescriptions
- Giving injections or drawing blood
