Job Title: VEX Robotics Summer Camp Intern
Location: Various Cabarrus County Schools Locations
Duration: June 1st-July 23rd/Monday-Thursday 7:30- AM-3:00 PM
Compensation: $15 per hour
Position Overview
The VEX Robotics Summer Camp Intern will support the planning, organization, and facilitation of engaging, hands-on robotics camps for students in grades 1st-9th grade. This role is ideal for individuals interested in STEM education, robotics, and working with students in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. Interns will assist with VEX platforms such as Lego Spike Essentials, VEX GO, VEX IQ, and VEX V5 while helping create a positive and inclusive learning experience for all participants.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist instructors in leading daily robotics lessons and activities using VEX platforms
- Support students in building, coding, and troubleshooting robotics projects
- Help set up, organize, and maintain robotics equipment (kits, laptops, tools, etc.)
- Provide small-group and one-on-one support to campers as needed
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging camp environment
- Assist with camp logistics including attendance, transitions, and daily schedules
- Model positive behavior, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Support basic technology setup, including 3D printers or other STEM tools (if applicable)
- Help prepare materials and clean up at the end of each day
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Cabarrus County Schools 11th or 12th grade or current college student (preferred fields: education, engineering, computer science, or related STEM areas)
- Experience with VEX Robotics platforms (GO, IQ, V5) or similar robotics programs preferred
- Interest in working with children and supporting STEM learning
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to problem-solve and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn
