General Definition of Work
The person performs a variety of tasks to support the programmatic success of STEM education. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality and consistency of STEM education. Key responsibilities includes the following activities: coordinate STEM professional developments; attends professional learning communities with staff to engage in STEM integration practices; plans shared experiences for all STEM staff, students, and community members; supports with Program Choice student assignment process; coordinates STEM marketing materials and community communication; supports with STEM certification and reauthorization; supports with the STEM Advisory Board; coordinates internship activities; and coordinates grant programs and applications.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education
Essential Functions
- Support the implementation and evaluation of an integrated K-12 STEM curriculum that aligns to and meets the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and the NC STEM School of Distinction rubric
- Supports the programmatic review process to continue to evaluate the return on investment around the STEM district and school programming and resource allocations.
- Collects and analyzes data related to STEM program effectiveness and student achievement to inform strategic planning and reporting to district leadership.
- Supporting schools in meeting, or exceeding growth in Science according to End of Grade end of course testing
- Serve weekly in professional learning communities to support in PLCs
- Facilitates small group quarterly data digs to assist with school proficiency growth in science and math
- Conduct weekly support with classroom teacher instruction using the CCS walkthrough instrument
- Collaborates with classroom teachers, counselors, principals, and other stakeholders to implement the STEM education.
- Provides presentations and workshops to small and large groups of teachers to accelerate the use of exemplary instructional practices and improve student achievement around STEM education.
- Reviews, recommends, and/or develops support materials to enhance learning and achievement.
- Evaluate and recommend educational technologies and resources that support innovative teaching and learning in STEM.
- Coaches, co-teachers, and models best practices in STEM education to provide a continuous cycle of feedback and support around STEM practices.
- Monitors student success in programs using observations, surveys, benchmark tests, standardized test results, progress reports, attendance data, and discipline data. Prepares an annual report on student academic and social outcomes for assigned schools.
- Engage with community partners, higher education institutions, and industry representatives to develop support and resources for the STEM programs.
- Coordinate events and initiatives such as science fairs, STEM nights, and guest speaker series to promote STEM education and careers among students.
- Works closely with the Program Choice Office on application process development and implementation.
- Works closely with the Program Choice Office to develop and maintain student data bases for enrollment.
- Completes all reports, memos, documentation and other necessary paperwork in a timely and professional manner.
- Write and manage grants to secure funding for new and ongoing STEM projects.
- Monitors program and grant budgets.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Comprehensive knowledge of school administration principles, practices and procedures.
- Comprehensive knowledge of school choice and career services programs.
- Ability to develop and present ideas effectively both orally and in written form.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with school officials, school administrators, parents, associates, and the general public.
Physical Requirements
- This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force.
