Cabana provides confidential mental health support for real, everyday challenges—giving people a place to start before things escalate and without the barriers of traditional care. We partner with health plans such as the Johns Hopkins U.S. Family Health Plan to offer no-cost support to TRICARE Prime members and their families.
Cabana is used for common challenges like stress, anxiety, sleep, relationships, and big life transitions—whether they want to talk, listen, or take a few minutes to reset. Used by the VA, National Guard, and leading health systems, Cabana gives people a place to start without pressure, labels, or long wait times.

We’re offering a summer internship to serve as a Community Outreach Specialist to build awareness of Cabana across Maryland, working with primary care practices, behavioral health providers, emergency departments, and urgent care centers. This is a field-based, relationship-driven role—ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of healthcare, community engagement, and mental health access.
Many individuals experience stress, anxiety, sleep challenges, or major life transitions before seeking clinical care, or without needing it at all. Cabana helps bridge that gap by providing early, accessible support and helping people connect to the right level of care. Your work will play a direct role in expanding access to these resources for military families across Maryland.
In this role, you’ll serve as an on-the-ground extension of our team, building relationships with providers and helping them understand how Cabana supports patients both before they enter clinical care and in between visits.
Responsibilities
- Visit local healthcare practices and introduce Cabana as a no-cost support option
- Build relationships with practice managers, providers, and front desk staff
- Share simple educational materials and explain how Cabana fits into care pathways
- Identify practices open to referring patients or sharing resources
- Track outreach activity and engagement
- Support new user growth through provider relationships
Qualifications
- Student or recent graduate (preferred: rising junior/senior)
- Strong preference for student veterans, military spouses or dependents, or individuals connected to the military community
- Comfortable talking to people and building relationships in person
- Organized, self-directed, and reliable
- Interest in healthcare, public health, or mental health
