Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the powder coating department, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and resource allocation to meet production targets.
- Supervise daily operations involving sandblasting, prepping products for powder, coating products and curing products to specifications.
- Oversee preparation and maintenance of equipment such as sanders, spray booths, ovens, and precision measuring instruments to guarantee optimal performance.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality throughout the coating process.
- Train and mentor team members on proper use of equipment
- Maintain accurate documentation of production metrics, quality inspections and inventory levels for materials handling and warehouse management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a focus on powder coating or industrial painting; experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on expertise in finishes
- Familiarity with forklift operation and warehouse experience for efficient materials movement.
- Ability to read blueprints and utilize precision measuring instruments for quality assurance.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to optimize processes and reduce waste.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team while maintaining high safety standards.
