The DDS State-Operated Stabilization Training Assessment Re-Integration (STAR) homes provide individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities experiencing an acute crisis with person-centered support and crisis stabilization on a time-limited basis to enable them to successfully return home or transition to less restrictive living settings. The homes strive to empower individuals to be self-reliant as their skills, strengths, perseverance, and abilities allow so they can transition from crisis stabilization services to long-term community living. STAR currently provides services to adolescents (11-17 years old) and adults (18 years of age and older) who are receiving regional center services. The STAR homes are 4 to 5 bed homes located in community settings.
Experience in the following areas will ensure success in this role:
- Basic nursing care methods and techniques
- REQUIRED: Possession of a valid certificate issued by the California Department of Health Services to practice as a certified nursing assistant
- Able to provide basic level-of-care services to clients/patients
- Analyze situations accurately
- Follow directions and communicate effectively with others
