WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7:30am - 6pm with an On-Call rotation Gather information on patients' illnesses and medical history to guide the choice of diagnostic procedures for therapy. Explain procedures and safety precautions to patients and answer patient questions. Produce computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as required by the departmental procedures. Perform imaging duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology. Position the patient and equipment correctly to produce results with the best quality. Operate machine properly in order to produce clear imaging results of a patient's body. Observe the equipment to make sure that it is working properly. Maintain standards while performing call types of procedures. Regulate the equipment used to expose the x-ray film, develops and documents PACS imaging. Conduct preliminary assessments, summarize processed data, and communicate findings and relevant information with healthcare professionals; collaborate with radiologists, clinical staff, imaging assistants, IT staff and hospital partners in the execution of analysis. Create the illusion of depth by manipulating 2D data into three-dimensional format to capture images of patients' tissue, organs and/or bones to evaluate for possible injury or illness. Perform post-acquisition processing of data to produce clinically relevant and useful images, parametric maps and segmentation; troubleshoot when issues arise. Write detailed reports about the patients' behavior or any machine malfunctions.
