Position Summary:
To provide on-site assistance to the Superintendent in supervising and coordinating field activities for a specific project. May also be assigned overall responsibility for a smaller project where appropriate
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Management Skills:
- Assist with scheduling and directing the work of trade subcontractors and take necessary action to assure the project objectives of cleanliness, safety, budget, schedule and quality are met.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and enforcement of project-specific quality control measures.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of four-week look ahead schedules.
- Assist with the documentation of all actions dealing with actual or possible claims/legal action.
- Assist with the timely completion of all punch lists and work completion lists.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with all (client, inspectors, architect, subcontractors, project team and all CWD departments).
- Manages with an assertive style but is fair and reasonable with all business dealings involving clients, subcontractors and co-workers.
- Motivate and build teamwork/morale in the project team through earned respect.
- Promote CWD “Core Values” with the project team, client and subcontractors.
Technical Skills:
- Implement, maintain and enforce the overall site safety program and ensure subcontractor compliance with CWD policies and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
- Develop, maintain and enforce a project site logistics and temporary facilities plan.
- Coordinate and manage all material deliveries and subcontracts. Track critical material deliveries and maintain records.
- Provide input to the Project Manager on field activities that impact the Change Order process.
- Develop schedules for the successful start-up and turnover of all systems to the client.
- Implement SWPPP measures and documentation.
- Review and understand material and equipment budgets and negotiate purchase orders and rental rates.
- Possess knowledge of all documents associated with the project including plans, specifications, contract, subcontracts, purchase orders, daily correspondence, shop drawings and submittals.
- Maintain a complete and accurate set of working documents and As-Builts.
- Provide technical assistance to all members of the project team.
- Coordinate all field inspections, mock-ups and testing.
