Position Summary:
The Project Engineer (PE) supports the project team in the administration and coordination of all aspects of construction projects. This role involves both field and office responsibilities and plays a critical part in documentation, procurement, and communication across multiple phases of construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, procurement logs, and meeting minutes.
- Track material deliveries, verify quantities, and assist with labor cost reporting.
- Coordinate submittals, mock-ups, and field testing; ensure subcontractors receive current project documents.
- Maintain and update all construction drawings, specifications, and logs.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project schedules in collaboration with the team.
- Support project closeout including punch list documentation, O&M manuals, and as-builts.
- Participate in project meetings and distribute accurate, timely meeting minutes.
- Monitor and document field issues and assist in safety enforcement as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field or 2 years of commercial construction experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with Viewpoint, Primavera P6, Prolog, or other construction management software.
- Understanding of construction administration processes including schedules, RFIs, submittals, and procurement.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to access active construction sites, including climbing ladders and stairs, standing for long periods, and working in varying site conditions. Reasonable accommodations will be provided as necessary.
Work Environment:
Work is primarily conducted on-site with exposure to machinery, heights, dust, outdoor conditions, and construction-related noise. Proper safety protocols and protective equipment are required.
