**Job Description**
The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the safe operation, daily monitoring and maintenance of large scale industrial refrigeration systems and HVAC systems. This includes ensuring assets are managed in accordance with ASHRE, ASME, EPA, OSHA and applicable State and Local Codes.
This position requires RETA - Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO) certification or equivalent experience.
The responsibilities of this position include:
- Overseeing Refrigeration, Electrical, and HVAC systems including monitoring and trending, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Conducting preventive maintenance within established timelines and leak detection.
- Conducting required inspections and reporting, and implementing energy management strategies as outlined by management or corporate refrigeration team.
- Maintaining product integrity through temperature monitoring & control.
- Evaluating and reporting equipment condition.
This position also involves:
- Logging time and materials into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) daily in the form of work orders, P.M.s, etc.
- Communicating all pertinent information regarding system operation and maintenance to departmental management and refrigeration teams.
- Responsible for housekeeping and clean up of refrigeration machine rooms, refrigeration maintenance areas, and all project areas daily.
- Interpreting and understanding plans and specifications, schematics operating and maintenance manuals, etc. for systems being overseen.
This position will also assist the building and material handling equipment maintenance teams in tasks such as general building repairs, electrical troubleshooting and repairs, forklift repair and maintenance, changing and servicing lift batteries, and other general maintenance activities as designated by the Manager of Facility Maintenance.
This position requires good mobility, physical exertion, walking, bending, reaching, climbing ladders, carrying tools and parts, etc. The candidate must have or obtain RETA (CARO) Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator and (CIRO) Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator Certification as experience and certification level permits.
Candidates must be willing to be on call for after-hours refrigeration issues. They must also review semi-annual service reports and make recommendations for corrective action of all action items. Candidates will also assist the Corporate Refrigeration Team in annual capital budget planning.
