NCCCO Crane Operator

Job Overview

We are a local Crane Company seeking a NCCCO-certified Crane Operator with the ability to set-up and operator hydraulic mobile cranes ranging from a 17-Ton BoomTruck to a 100-Ton LinkBelt. This individual will need to be flexible and adapt to customer's needs and operational changes. To ensure your qualifications meet our needs and expectations, an on-site demonstration and test will be completed with one of our current Operators.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate and maneuver crane controls to lift, position, and transport heavy loads according to site plans and manufacturer specs.
• Ability to set-up and take-down cranes as well as assemble/disassemble boom sections according to job parameters and safe operating procedures.
• Conduct thorough pre-operation and daily equipment inspections, checking fluid levels, cables, and hydraulic systems ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
• Read and interpret load capacity charts, boom angles, and weight indicators to ensure every lift remains within safe limits.
• Coordinate movements smoothly by responding precisely to hand signals or radio commands from ground riggers and signal persons.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including OSHA standards and DOT regulations to minimize accidents and injuries.
• Assist with rigging and securing loads for safe transport.
• Follow established procedures for rigging, hoisting, and signaling during lifting operations.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.

Requirements:

• Valid NCCCO Crane Operator Credential (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) for specific rig types, such as STC, TLL, TSS, etc.
• Must have a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record, DOT Medical Examiner's Card, and pass a drug test
• Proven experience operating various types of hydraulic cranes and heavy equipment, preferably 2 years of prior experience
• Strong knowledge of flatbed and commercial truck driving best practices, including truck loading/unloading, binding and chaining, and cargo handling procedures to ensure proper securement is compliant with safety standards.
• Familiarity in GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and execution.
• Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles confidently and perform manual handling tasks safely.
• Familiarity with FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, and safety protocols for transport.

Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
