Overview
We’re looking for a detail‑oriented Technical Writer who can turn complex mechanical and electrical information into clear, easy‑to‑use documentation. In this role, you’ll work closely with engineers, technicians, and cross‑functional teams to create operation and parts manuals, supportive visuals, and documentation that helps customers and service teams succeed.

This is a great role for someone who enjoys learning how things work and explaining them clearly to others.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation, including operation manuals for machinery and systems, and parts manuals with exploded views, part identification, and service notes
  • Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other subject‑matter experts to verify technical accuracy, resolve unclear information, and maintain consistent terminology and formatting
  • Create and improve visual content to support instructions with photographs of machinery, editing images with callouts and annotations, using CAD drawings and SolidWorks models to create diagrams and part visuals, create illustrations for procedures and concepts (or partner with a graphic designer)
  • Apply structured writing best practices to improve content quality and consistency
  • Track revisions, manage version control, and follow clear review workflows
  • Continuously improve documentation using feedback from users, service teams, and quality reviews

What We're Looking For

  • Background in technical writing, engineering, CAD, field service, or equivalent hands‑on experience
  • Proven ability to write and edit clear, accurate technical procedures
  • Strong ability to learn mechanical and electrical concepts and explain them in user‑friendly language
  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Nice to Have (We’ll Train Where Needed)

  • Experience with DITA or structured authoring tools and content management systems (CMS/CCMS)
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop or similar image‑editing software
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks or CAD workflows for technical publications
  • Experience with FrameMaker

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively, including talking and hearing. The employee frequently uses hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment for extended periods of time. The employee is frequently required to sit, and may occasionally be required to stand, walk, or reach with hands and arms.

The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move materials such as documentation binders, sample components, or equipment weighing up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus, particularly for prolonged computer use and document review.

The work environment is primarily an office or production-support setting. The noise level is generally moderate, though the employee may occasionally be exposed to manufacturing or production floor conditions when gathering technical information or collaborating with subject matter experts.

Pay: $30,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
