Position Description:
NTS is seeking an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer to support geotechnical investigations, engineering analyses, construction materials testing, and project delivery. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and geologists while developing technical expertise through a combination of office, laboratory, and field assignments.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with geotechnical engineering investigations, analyses, and design recommendations under the guidance of senior staff.
- Support field exploration programs including soil sampling, drilling oversight, core logging, groundwater monitoring, and instrumentation installation.
- Perform engineering calculations related to foundations, earthwork, slope stability, settlement, and retaining structures.
- Assist with preparing geotechnical reports, boring logs, drawings, maps, and technical memoranda.
- Coordinate laboratory testing and review test results for engineering applications.
- Support construction observation and materials testing activities.
- Assist with project scheduling, cost tracking, and documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams including environmental scientists, engineers, surveyors, and construction personnel.
- Support the NTS safety program through safe work practices, policy adherence, hazard reporting, and commitment to safe project execution.
- Other duties as assigned or necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on geotechnical engineering, or a related field.
- 0-5 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Basic understanding of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical investigation methods.
- Strong understanding of construction materials testing and the construction industry, in general.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive, high-quality technical reports.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and bridge gaps between different professional disciplines.
- Must be detail-oriented and possess a strong desire for continued learning and professional growth.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
Compensation & Schedule:
Position Type: Full-Time Compensation: $70,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience and education. Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and professional development.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
