Position Description:
Primary accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Independently plan, design, and direct geotechnical engineering projects, tracking scope, schedule, and budget.
- Assist with the calculation of cost estimates and determining the feasibility of projects or foundation systems based on subsurface conditions including dewatering, excavation of weak soils, rock excavation, and settlement risk.
- Provide support for the construction materials laboratory quality management system.
- Prepare and review geotechnical reports, including maps, drawings, and soil boring logs.
- Assist with the coordination of laboratory services and field exploration program.
- Engage in fieldwork as necessary, including but not limited to, soil sampling, drilling oversight and core logging, groundwater monitoring, and instrumentation installation and monitoring.
- Participate in business development, building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with clients and potential clients.
- Support the NTS safety program through safe work practices, policy adherence, hazard reporting, and commitment to safe project execution.
- Other duties as assigned or necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on geotechnical engineering or a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
- 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Strong understanding of construction materials testing and the construction industry, in general.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive, high-quality technical reports.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and bridge gaps between different professional disciplines.
- Professional certification, such as PE licensure, preferred.
- Must be detail-oriented and possess a strong desire for continued learning and professional growth.
Compensation & Schedule:
Position Type: Full-time
Compensation: Starting at $110,000 per year, based on experience and education. Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and professional development.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday
