What are the responsibilities and job description for the Upper Elementary Montessori Teacher position at C'E Montessori?
COMPANY DESCRIPTION
C'E Montessori is an independent Montessori school serving children from infancy through Middle School in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Our mission is to prepare children to transform their world—not by telling them what that world should become, but by cultivating the independence, courage, knowledge, and compassion to shape it themselves.
Our campus spans multiple interconnected buildings designed specifically for authentic Montessori education. Children learn in beautiful prepared environments filled with carefully curated Montessori materials, art studios, science laboratories, innovation spaces, a dance studio, outdoor learning areas, and gardens that encourage exploration and purposeful work. Learning regularly extends into the surrounding Brooklyn community through field studies, service learning, and real-world experiences.
Our Upper Elementary classroom serves students ages 9–12 and is intentionally connected to our International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme, allowing students to experience a thoughtful transition from Montessori Elementary into inquiry-based secondary education. Our faculty collaborates across divisions to ensure continuity in student growth, executive functioning, leadership, research, and interdisciplinary thinking.
We believe outstanding schools are built by outstanding educators. Teachers at C'E are trusted as professionals, encouraged to innovate, supported through meaningful professional development, and given the autonomy to continually refine their practice alongside a collaborative faculty.
