Job Overview
C&E Auto Body is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paint Prep professional to join our team and prepare our collision repairs fro refinsih and delivery. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of auto body repair and painting, with experience in preparing vehicles for paint application. This role is crucial in ensuring that all surfaces are properly prepped and ready for the painting process, contributing to the overall quality of our work.
Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicles for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking surfaces to ensure a smooth finish.
- Utilize hand tools effectively to remove old paint and prepare surfaces for new applications.
- Collaborate with auto body repair technicians to assess vehicle conditions and determine necessary prep work.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored after use.
- Conduct quality checks on prepared surfaces to ensure they meet company standards before painting begins.
- Stay updated on best practices in auto restoration and painting techniques to enhance skills and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in auto body repair or related fields is preferred.
- Familiarity with airless paint spraying equipment and techniques is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work effectively with hand tools and perform basic mechanic tasks related to vehicle maintenance.
- Knowledge of auto estimating processes is beneficial but not required.
- Must have a great attitude and be a dependable team player as well as be able to work independently and demonstrating good communication skills.
- Valid drivers license and good driving record is a must
