Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to understand project requirements and specifications
- Assist with erosion control measures to protect sites from environmental impact
- Operate power tools and equipment safely for tasks such as cutting, drilling, and assembling structures
- Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of materials, ensuring proper techniques to prevent injury
- Maintain strict adherence to workplace safety regulations, including OSHA standards and industrial safety protocols
- Conduct routine equipment repairs and maintenance to ensure optimal functioning of tools and machinery
- Implement erosion control strategies and ensure proper installation of safety barriers and signage
- Climb ladders, scaffolding, or other structures safely while using appropriate fall protection measures such as respiratory protection when necessary
Experience
- Proven experience in industrial or commercial construction environments with a strong understanding of construction workplace safety regulations
- Hands-on experience with blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and executing construction plans accurately
- Knowledge of erosion control practices and environmental safety measures on construction sites
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair, maintenance, and operation of power tools
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards, including the implementation of safety regulations for heavy lifting, climbing, respiratory protection, and general site safety
- Ability to handle manual tasks efficiently while maintaining high safety standards in fast-paced settings
- Prior experience working with construction plans and technical drawings is highly preferred
